    Description

    RARE. interesting silk ribbon circa: 1835-1855, which mentions the consecration of BISHOP JACKSON KEMPER  Sept 25, 1835.
    The ribbon has an engraved portrait Bishop Kemper and the wording: D.M.A of T.S.C and our First Missionary Bishop .
    Under his portrait is a printed example of his facsimile signature.
    Printed in small print on the right side under his portrait is the printers' marking: (735, and also Broadway N.Y..thats what the words look like under a magnifier).
    Jackson Kemper (24 December 1789-24 May 1870) was the son of colonel in the Revolutionary War.  Kemper founded a number of parishes in the Northwest territory and is especially known for his work with the American Indians,  This ribbon has some wear, very minor soil, bottom edges folded up.  It is in GREAT shape considering the age.  Measures: 7 1/4 long x 2 3/8 wide.
