Historic Bison Horn Core partial skull Cap Buffalo bone

Description

Historic American bison horn core half skull cap. Large, heavy partial bison skull with horn core. This is a real bison bone from some point in history not from one of the dime a dozen ranch bison of today.
This area was home to many native tribes throughout the ages, most recently the Lakota Santee. It's not difficult to imagine that this bison may have been a part of their circle of life.
Likely this partial skull is from a historic bison bison that had an impressive set of horns. Found in a waterway in 2022.
This piece has been sealed with an acrylic stabilizing product, paraloid b-72 and has been touched up a bit with glue.
