This deck was not working when it arrived. There is a small scratch on the top cover and a small dent on the left panel. The right panel has some touch up work on the corner. It was done well. Some of the logic buttons on the left side control have some ware marks
The mechanism has been completely restored and balanced back to original performance. A list below describes the work done to bring it back to a balanced and pristine mechanical condition. The recording qualities are strong after the playback and recording chain capacitors were replaced with Nichicon Muse & Gold Cap. I replaced the supply guide with an OEM Sony Part. The original ceramic guide became warped over time. The replacement Sony guide manages the tape path precisely. It is black instead of the original gray/tan colored one. Same part
The recording capabilities are strong, and any tape used will make a great recording. Tested multiple tapes and types. There is a lot of room for sound correction on the front panel. You are able to match the source completely. Dolby S is exceptional
