Condition:
The fabric of the hat is off-white but I don't know if it that is due to age or the original color. I see only one tiny spot of discoloration on the back, a tan mark 1/4" long and 1/8" wide. Other than that it shows its age and use. The fabric seams are all solid and I see no tears. The patch on the front is solidly sewn, but is a little dingy where the driver's hand likely grabbed the cap. The visor is solid and in great shape. The brass buttons at its sides are tarnished. The inner hatband looks like woven caning and is in good shape. The cloth and sweat band inside and around it show the most wear, the sweatband split in one spot though still attached all the way around, and the cloth frayed where the cap would sit on a table. The black cloth outer band and smaller outer plastic one from button to button are all in good condition. Other than damage to the inner sweatband and cloth inside the caned band, the worst thing about the hat is the slightly dingy look from use.
