This cast brass lamp is really heavy , over 17 lbs, (17lb-4oz) you can't just reach and grab this with one hand and pick it up, it's amazingly heavy for it's size, it would make a good night light on an ocean boat because it would in no way tip over and would not slide on wherever it was sitting. The cord and the plug make it appear to be made in the 50s or 60s, the cord is a little frayed near the bottom base but the lamp is working and tested. The top of the lamp is threaded to replace the bulb, there is a large threaded plug in the bottom of this lamp also. There are 3 screw holes in the bottom of the base so it likely had a wood base originally.
